Peugeot 308 in the test: the successor of the 307 is gross and firmer

Colmar (france), 10. September 2007 – peugeot makes a big number from its compact lowen: the new 308 lost the 307. The transaction has been a solid gross since 2001 in its class. There is not only as a three- and funfturer, but also as a combination variant and as a folding roof convertible CC. With the year 2005, a feature came for every 307 that today will find it on 308: the rough lowenmaul. The releases comes first as a flickheck limousine with three and five things. But how does the new practice in practice? We drove the 308 for you and compared to VW golf.

Six engines to choose from

Earlier, the compact frenchman has changed significantly against the transaction 307. Especially the lights are so narrow and long as the smaller 207. Longer has become the body, and by about seven centimeters. However, the wheelbase remained. Under the bonnet, three petrol engineers developed in cooperation with BMW and three really french diesel. We drove the top petrol engine, which brings 150 hp from 1.6 liters of displacement. Thanks to twinscroll turbo the engine accelerates well from the speed cellar. 240 newton meters are available at 1400 rpm – values, as they do not reach some turbodiesel. In 308, according to peugeot, the unit consumes 7.1 liters to 100 kilometers – a realistic value, because our on-board computer showed exactly the same number after our exit. This consumption is fine. The VW golf 1.4 TSI with 140 hp and double charging with turbo and compressor also consumes 7.1 liters.
